This follows 673 wines that entered this year's overall show with our 2019 Seasalter taking the shine in the Sauvignon Blanc category.
Winemaker, Lukas Wentzel is over the moon by the announcement and commends everyone that was involved in the winemaking process. "The success of this product is the hard work of each individual playing an integral role in the production."
Besides the trophy award, the 2019 Seasalter was also listed under the TOP 10 Wines and Top 10 Value Whites at the same show with Groote Post being listed under the 10 Most Successful Cellars.
"This award celebrates Darling Sauvignon Blanc and what we have to offer in this region." says owner Nick Pentz. He adds that Seasalter has over the years consistently showed its steel.
Groote Post Seasalter Sauvignon Blanc is made up of 90% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Semillon. 30% of the Sauvignon Blanc was fermented and aged for 4 months in 300 litre French Oak barrels. The remaining components were fermented in stainless steel tanks and left on the fine lees.
